Apple cake with MEVGAL Yogurt

Make this fantastic apple cake and your kitchen will smell simply amazing!


  • 250 g butter
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup grated apple
  • 1 cup MEVGAL strained yogurt or 2 cups MEVGAL fruit yogurt apple flavored
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 500g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • Extra butter and flour for the mould
  • 1 Tbsp lemon
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • Instructions

  • For the apple yogurt cake: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Beat the butter with the sugar in a mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one by one, gradually incorporating them into the mixture.
  • Add the grated apple, yogurt and cinnamon followed by the flour, baking powder and walnuts. Stir together until well combined.
  • Butter and flour a cake mould. Pour in the mixture and bake for approximately 1 hour. Ice the cake when cold, or simply dust with a little cinnamon and icing sugar.
